These tiny quail are ideal for including as low level interest in an aviary or flight, they can fly but prefer to stay on the ground unless startled, when they shoot up vertically into the air. The bird pictured below is a normal coloured cock bird, the normal hen is a lighter brown colour all over and does not have the white and black markings under the beak. They also come in a silver mutation and a white one.
