Join us at Butterfly Creek this school holiday for a line-up of captivating butterfly-themed activities! Step into our tropical Butterfly House and marvel at the graceful butterflies as they flit around – you might even have one land on you! Unleash your creativity with butterfly-themed arts & crafts, and don’t miss out on our enchanting face-painting sessions on selected days.
While you’re here, be on the lookout for our Dino Keepers as they take our dinosaurs for a stroll around the park on selected days during the holidays.
But that’s not all – there’s a world of wonder awaiting you at Butterfly Creek! Encounter fascinating animals up close, wander into mythical realms of unicorns and dragons, and be wowed by our giant salt-water crocs, Scar and Goldie. Make furry friends at Buttermilk Farm, giggle at the antics of monkeys, otters, and meerkats, and keep an eye out for Kiwi in our Kiwi Forest.

Dinosaur Entertainers
Look out for our life-sized walking dinosaur, who will be wandering the park with his keeper on selected days. Plus we will have our dinosaur keepers taking their baby dinos out – they love having their photo taken, so look out for them!
And the kids will love to get their faces painted during one of our awesome face painting sessions – check our entertainment calendar for days and times.
Arts & Crafts
Join us for some arts and activities – make your very own brilliant butterfly that you can add to our kaleidoscope (group of butterflies) or create some awesome artwork with our brilliant butterflies colouring sheet.
Check out our Butterfly Life Cycle activity, where you can enjoy colouring, cutting and sorting the life cycle stages into order.
Daily Animal Encounters
Want to get up close to our animals? Then you won’t want to miss our free daily encounters! We have 9 encounters throughout the day for you to learn more about our animals. Be sure to attend New Zealand’s only saltwater crocodiles being fed at 1pm – it’s a spectacular show not to be missed!
