But that’s not all—we’ve also partnered with our friends at Universal Pictures NZ on the launch of their new movie – The Wild Robot – with lots of fun activities and prizes to be won. Plus you can enjoy our daily animal encounters, face-painting on selected days, and a variety of hands-on activities that will keep the kids engaged and delighted. There’s something for everyone in the family: marvel at our giant saltwater crocodiles, Scar and Goldie; make furry friends at Buttermilk Farm; laugh at the playful antics of monkeys, otters, and meerkats; and spot Kiwis in our Kiwi Forest.

Butterfly Conservation Garden
It’s no surprise that we LOVE butterflies at Butterfly Creek, and we’re committed to protecting these delicate creatures and their habitats. This school holidays, we’re excited to introduce our special Conservation Garden! Kids can take part by writing their own conservation pledge or hint on a paper flower, decorating it, and adding it to our growing garden backdrop.
Together, we’ll create a vibrant display of fantastic conservation ideas—a colorful reminder that we can all make a difference. These pledges will inspire visitors of all ages to take simple, meaningful steps at home to safeguard butterflies and their environment. Whether it’s planting native flowers, reducing pesticide use, or creating a butterfly-friendly space in your garden, every small action counts.

Be in to win with ‘THE WILD ROBOT’
We’re delighted to have partnered with the team at Universal Pictures NZ with the launch of their new movie – The Wild Robot! Come and visit us at Butterfly Creek these holidays and dive into exciting The Wild Robot activities, including colouring, a scavenger hunt, and more.

Dinosaur Entertainers
Look out for our life-sized walking dinosaur, who will be wandering the park with his keeper on selected days.
Plus we will have our dinosaur keepers taking their baby dinos out – they love having their photo taken, so keep an eye out for them!
Arts and Crafts
Join us for some arts and activities – solve the puzzles in our Butterfly Conservation activity book, and learn about things you can do to help support our butterfly population.
We also have butterfly colouring, The Wild Robot activities, and be sure to check out the conservation garden
Face Painting
Kids will have a blast getting their faces painted at our special sessions throughout the holidays.
Choose to become a brilliant butterfly, a roarsome dinosaur, or bring out your reptile side with a colourful lizard. Check the calendar for session times.

Choose from our Individual Day Passes or our great value Family Pass for 2 Adults and 2 Children. Passes include access to all attractions (train rides additional). You have 6 months to use your ticket from the date selected so if you can’t make it on the chosen day, you can use it another time.
